Frequently asked questions

Everything worth knowing before you travel

An eSIM is a digital SIM card that installs on your device with no physical card at all. After you buy, you get a QR code to scan, alongside manual installation details for devices that can't scan a QR. The profile is stored on the device and connects to a local network at your destination.

Your device needs to support eSIM and must not be locked to a mobile operator. Most devices from the last few years do support it, but not all of them. You can check in your device settings — if there's an option to add an eSIM or a mobile plan, your device supports eSIM. Network locking is a separate matter, so it's worth confirming with your operator that the device is unlocked.

We recommend installing before you travel, while you have a stable Wi-Fi connection. On most plans the installation itself doesn't start the validity period — but it varies by plan, so check when validity begins in the details of the plan you bought.

On most plans validity starts with your first connection to a network at the destination, not at the moment of purchase. Every plan states exactly when its validity begins.

On most plans yes, but it depends on the plan and on the device. Every plan card has a "Hotspot" line reading "Supported" or "Not supported", so you can check before you buy rather than after.

Yes. WhatsApp and Telegram run over the data connection, so they keep working with your eSIM. Your Israeli number stays reachable for calls and SMS only as long as your original SIM card is still installed in the device and active.

The plans we sell are data plans, and they don't include a local phone number for calls or SMS. You can call and message through apps that work over a data connection. If you specifically need calls or SMS on the mobile network, get in touch before you buy and we'll look into it for you.

Check that data roaming is switched on for the eSIM plan and that it's set as your active data line. If that doesn't help, our support team is on hand and will help you.
